1. Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Under the wave of AI, DTI is dedicated to developing related applications for the industries, including manufacturing, healthcare services, natural language processing services and more. DTI also focuses on developing domestic AI communication system to boost the performance of Taiwan manufacturing and service industries, and to create an efficient, intelligent service model.
2. Smart Manufacturing
DTI has assisted SMEs to deploy adjustable fog and cloud computing platforms which help to enhance quality control and production efficiency of factories. Meanwhile, with DTI’s data analytic tools and machine learning platforms, companies are able to optimize production parameter and the accuracy of facility diagnosis.
3. Smart Healthcare
Developing medical imaging AI tools, medical big data analysis, and promote the transformation and upgrading of domestic e-medical medical care. (1) Medical imaging AI model has been established to assist physicians in image interpretation. Taking mammogram as an example, it can assist physicians in detecting and discovering suspicious areas and improving interpretation efficiency. (2) Analysis of physiological big data to improve the quality of medical care. (3) Medical data authorization platform, to make use of medical resources in China, to build the cornerstone of smart medical care.
4. Smart Energy
The department has been dedicated to developing of cloud-based and IoT applications in energy-saving. The Automated Demand Response platform (ADR) and cloud-based energy management system aims to drive the approaches and mechanism of Taiwan’s demand-side management (DSM) to maximize the efficiency of energy using.
5. Food Traceability Platform
By utilizing open source and cloud technology, DTI has developed Food Industry Real-time Safety & Tracking (FIRST) Platform which locates food ingredients either upstream or downstream in the supply chain. The platform aims to prevent food contamination and deliver safe quality products to consumers.
6. Digital Environment Foundation
Includes a variety of cloud services such as cloud resource management platform "iServCloud", cloud development test platform "Cloud Open Lab", and cloud Blockchain node resource management platform "iServChain". Above items covering SaaS, PaaS and IaaS layers, operated in telecommunications, industry cloud services, smart park services, system integration projects and other fields.
IV. Major Achievements
1. Smart medical image
The medical image analysis platform includes medical image recognition technology and medical image marking system. Medical image recognition technology detects and identifies based on deep learning to assist physicians in accelerating image interpretation efficiency. The medical image marking system allows medical professionals to mark lesions on medical images through a browser. As a preparation tool for the fuel "data" of the AI engine.
2. AI DIY (AI by Yourself) deep learning platform
Users can easily complete the process of data creation, marking, training, and deployment through the platform. Through this platform, users can quickly verify their ideas and experience the power of deep learning.
At present, face recognition can identify gender and age, and can also track the walking trajectory of people, and perform body shape search under different cameras. Item identification has now completed bread identification, fruit identification, and can be used for self-checkout.
3. Virtual employee assistant and dialogue robot
Using high-accuracy natural language understanding technology, it provides virtual assistants and dialogue robots for various fields.
Such as virtual customer service assistants, combined with manual customer service, providing 24 hours of uninterrupted service, effectively shortening customer waiting time, double brain collaboration to reduce the burden of customer service personnel and assist in business sales.
4.Smart Manufacturing
DTI’s smart manufacturing solutions have assisted the enterprises in Taiwan to upgrade and optimize the production process. By collaborating with information technology service providers and system integration companies, DTI delivers solutions to both high-tech and traditional manufacturers such as textile, plastic and food industries. DTI aims to help the domestic manufacturers to provide customized production while lower the production and maintenance cost.
5. Smart manufacturing systems of the textile industry:
Through sensor and RFID, the products and machine data are automatically collected, and the production history of the whole product is established. The production line data can be visually monitored and abnormally alerted. Integrate a variety of data analysis modules to provide intelligent functions such as machine capacity, utilization rate analysis, machine parameter optimization recommendations, equipment health prediction and early warning. The new development order resolution solution replaces the manual input form and automatically serializes the supply chain information, which is 24 times faster.
6. Chameleon Industrial Equipment Smart Network Gateway Technology
Cross-industry universal device networking technology, networking does not require program development, non-IT personnel can also be easily used as the biggest feature, suitable for small and medium-sized or non-IT personnel manufacturing import, significantly reducing the threshold of industrial IoT import. In addition, the technology has built-in complete artificial intelligence development environment, users can complete modeling and equipment health module development in one machine, and have introduced industrial practices such as printed circuit board (PCB), use of hand tools, water hardware, textiles and machine tools.
7.Food Traceability
The platform has provided transparent information on the ingredients for over 6,000 schools from kindergartens to universities in Taiwan, as well as 400 catering service companies and over 2000 restaurants. By far, the platform has secured food safety for over 4.36 million students. Till July 2017, it has assisted more than 200 food manufacturers to establish food traceability mechanism and successfully increased the transparency in food supply chain. Moreover, the concept of tractability is expanded to the construction industry as well. In 2015, “Building Material Tractability Platform” was developed. Leading domestic construction companies, for instance Huaku Development and RUENTEX, joined this platform in 2016 to safeguard residence safety.
8. Cloud Open Lab
DTI’s Cloud Open Lab has already assisted the examination of 20 government clouds and 200 industry clouds. It has become one of the official pre-testing tools for cloud services under the Inter-Entity Supply Contract with Taiwan government. By far, 13 government agencies consider it as an important indicator when examining cloud projects. Major achievements include the launch of government cloud – “Central Geological Survey Soil Liquefaction Query (Pro Edition)” database.
9. iServChain
Currently, over a dozen of private organizations are using iServCloud to offer services. The platform has already been utilized by two leading domestic IDC cloud service providers, and over 2,000 virtual machines are currently running on the platform.
