Main business
The Institute for Information Industry (III) established the International Group in 2005 and changed its name to the International Division in 2012 to integrate III’s resources to strive for internationalization and global collaboration. The International Division supports Taiwan’s ICT industries to expand their international business, jointly create value, and provide high quality information technologies, products, solutions and services.
The primary industry services of the International Division are as follows.
International Innovative Cooperation Group:
This group establishes partnerships with foreign countries. It also promotes international collaboration with foreign organizations (typically comprised of the country’s promotional units for governmental agencies or scientific research and innovation companies) for collaboration with related organizations in advanced countries. Work is focused on activities and projects of forward-looking technology and international linkage of innovation. For collaboration with related organizations in emerging countries, this group works on international promotion activities and innovative global export projects for the domestic industries.
The International Partnerships Group:
This group assists the domestic system integration and cybersecurity industries to create international links, promote relevant solutions, and liaise with target-market related organizations. It is also responsible for organizing overseas deployment of system integration projects and advancement of the overseas export of Taiwan's system integration and cybersecurity industries to explore international business opportunities. This group works with local emerging markets, manages the export contact window of the ICT service industry overseas, and assists the ICT service industry providers to expand their sales into foreign markets.
Science and Technology Diplomacy Group:
This group strengthens science and technology diplomacy through industry connections to introduce Taiwan's science and technology capacity abroad, provide assistance for industry to expand into new international emerging markets, and build a digital center overseas for hosting training. It also conducts industry connection forums, international conferences and business networking opportunities that facilitate international business exchange and cooperation. By providing assistance to the New Southbound countries, it assists in the plan of smart regions and leads the entrance of IT industry providers.
