By using the practical experience gained from training personnel for many years, the Institute for Information Industry understands the demands and business opportunities of the technology learning industry and builds the domestic learning technology industry chain. In addition, by researching and developing learning technology, engaging in related learning technology transfers, and working with firms to use service projects to perform field demonstrations, the Institute for Information Industry formulates relevant action plans to enhance the R&D capacity of the learning technology industry, develop information industry-related personnel, and help college students find jobs. In 2015, the Digital Education Institute (of the Institute for Information Industry) won its second Benchmark Training Institution Gold Medal (for its Quality Management of Personnel Development system) issued by the Ministry of Labor. In the same year, the Digital Education Institute also won the Outstanding Academic and Research Institution Innovation Award (category: Organization) at the Fourth National Industrial Innovation Award organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. This shows the progress made by the Institute for Information Industry from cultivating high-quality IT personnel to creating a new era for the learning technology industry.
A Major Driver of the Learning Technology Industry

By setting global education and technology trend research as its foundation and researching and developing key technologies for smart learning, it became the first organization to create a cloud education service platform (i.e., the Innovative Global Classroom System (IGCS)), which provides interactive education to students from preschool to high school and enhances the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Over the past three years (approximately), the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ science and technology project investments showed an investment returns of nearly 70%, higher than the 10% requirement set by the government. In addition, these projects won several domestic and international awards. The Institute for Information Industry’s brain activation technology won the Best Use of Games and Simulations for Learning Award issued by the Brandon Hall in 2015 and was classified as an xAPI Adopter by the international standards organization ADL. Additionally, the Institute for Information Industry helps firms develop new digital learning products, which allowed it to win more than 21 awards at home and abroad. Furthermore, it helps Taiwan build an internationally competitive learning technology industry, increases industry output, and facilitates significant growth in international business expansions.
