On May 10th, introduced by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Sukaran Singh, CEO of Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), a subsidiary of TATA Group, the largest private conglomerate in India, led his team to discuss business opportunities with Taiwanese firms in the information security domain with the help III arranging related schedules. It is expected that the collaboration between the companies of Taiwan and India could facilitate the transformation of domestic firms to expedite their pace seeking business opportunities in the emerging markets abroad.
TATA Group is an internationally well-known Indian Conglomerate, which has 96 companies and runs business in 6 continents over 40 countries. From 2010 to 2011, its annual turnover reached 83.3 billion US dollars, which equals to 6.14% of India's GDP. Currently, its total capital is around 68.9 billion US dollars (only 28 companies included). The products of TATA Group are exported to 140 different countries.
The visiting company, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) is strategically the most important company of TATA Group in the aerospace and national defense domain. It is also the one of the major leaders in the fields of aerospace, national defense, and security in India. The company has corresponding businesses in the areas of ballistic missiles, radars, command and control, aerospace, unmanned aerial vehicles, opto-electronics, national defense etc. and signed long-term business supply contracts with national defense industries in American and European countries. In recent years, TASL gradually moved into the information and communication security businesses. Since the information and communication industries in Taiwan are relatively advanced and are the major suppliers for the market of global information and communication products and research and since many companies act as research and development centers of the associated fields, TASL comes to Taiwan looking for partners for future collaboration opportunities with III's assistance and arrangements.
In the visit, III International Division (ID) invited III CyberTrust Technology Institute (CTTI) as well as domestic companies specialized in information security such as Portwell, Infomax Communication, Gapertise, and jrsys, etc. III International Division not only introduced the development of information and communication security industries in Taiwan, but also arranged each firm to discuss deeply the application s and services in this domain as well as the collaboration opportunities and possible revenues of each side with TASL. It is expected that the two sides could expedite the collaboration process and create more business opportunities for the information security industries in Taiwan. Sukaran Singh, CEO of TASL indicated that the information and communication industries in Taiwan have advanced research and development as well as manufacturing capability in the business and, with the assistance and recommendation of III, he is really happy to make connection with various top information security firms of Taiwan. In the future, he believes there are great opportunities for companies of the two countries to hand in hand in the business.
In recent years, India is one of the fastest growing emerging economies around the globe. According to the statistics of World Bank, the annual growth rate of India in 2015 reached 7.3% surpassing that of China for the first time, which makes India the fastest growing economy in the world. All international institutes predict that the economy of India is expected to continue its fast growth trend for the next few years. III International Division Director General Ms. Hsiao Mei-Li specifically pointed out that the industries between Taiwan and India are extremely complementary and III International Division has already established an integrated service platform for industries of the two sides. Looking into the future, III International Division will dedicate into establishing strategic alliance between enterprises, integrating marketing resources, collecting information of target market demand as well as customer preference, and introducing potential collaboration partners so as to assist domestic firms collectively entering the emerging markets of India and increase the international business opportunities for local companies. By these means, III International Division will be able to bring high quality Taiwan technologies, products, and solution packages in the information and communication domain to the global stage.
