Congratulations! III-led Taiwanese Game Development Team "Digital Crafter" Participates in Casual Connect Asia 2016 in Singapore and Wins Best Game Art Award.

Picture Description: The world's largest independent game developer conference Casual Connect Asia kicked off in Singapore. Taiwanese team "Digital Crafter" won the "Best Game Art Award" by "Lamia’s Game Room" . CEO of Digital Crafter Chuan-Keng, Wei represented the company to receive the award on May 19th.
Since May 17th, the world's largest independent game developer conference "Casual Connect Asia (CCA)" had been held at Hard Rock Hotel consecutively for 3 days in Sentosa, Singapore. After the first round selection, there were 14 independent game development teams from Taiwan reaching the final and the number of final Taiwanese teams was by far the largest in comparison to those of previous years. Competing vigorously with 99 final teams from 16 countries around the globe, III Digital Education Institute (DEI)-Coached Team "Digital Crafter" won the Best Game Art Award by its self-developed game "Lamia’s Game Room" on 19th.
In this event, there were many III DEI led game development teams that also got excellent results. In addition to "Digital Crafter", "Gelly Bomb Games" was nominated the Best Innovative Game and the Best Multi-player Game by its unique approach facilitating virtual-physical integration. Furthermore, "The Swords" from "Sunhead Games" was nominated the Best Game Design, "Meow Remix" from Taco Force was nominated the Best Kids and Family Game, and LaCalade Games was on of the nominees of the Best Narrative Game. What worth mentioning was that Taiwanese teams were nominated in five different awards and won one of the most important awards "The Best Game Art Award" so that there was no doubt that Taiwan was the biggest winner of Casual Connect Asia 2016. The hard work exhibited by these participating products also presented to the public the excellent game development ability of Taiwanese independent game developers and enhanced the international visibility of Taiwan.
In fact, the domestic digital innovation ability and technological capability are improving dramatically. In 2012, III established App Creation Park and was dedicated to organizing game developer community. Game development speeches were held out each month and the community had become one of the most important developer communities. Clair Chen, the consultant invited by CCA this time, is the founder of Keitai, one of the III coached innovative teams.
III DEI Vice President I-Chang, Tsai indicated that last year, Taiwanese team "Fourdesire" was awarded the "Best Audio" and nominated the "Most Innovative Game" and "Best in Show Critic's Choice" by its "Walkr -Cosmos Adventure in the Pocket". Additionally, the team composed by iNext Creator and eGBang Games was also nominated the "Best Kids and Family Game" by "OBtuz RUSH".
Meanwhile, the field of Taiwan digital innovation is facing transformation. The latest technologies as well as software and hardware related to VR and IR are coming out continuously. With the support of Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, III teams will consistently assist start-up teams to be seen on the global stage and to match up with various business opportunities as well as resources from international VCs by participating in overseas exhibitions or relevant activities. It is expected that the products of domestic game developers could enter the Southeast Asia and Mainland China market through effective channels to expedite the process collaborating with foreign companies and grasp the business opportunities for the products to be issued abroad.
After 2016 Casual Connect Asia , III also held an experience sharing event inviting winning teams to share to the peers their first hand experience and introduced at the same time the 2016 Casual Connect USA held in San Francisco at the end of July. The goal is to help domestic game developers enter the US and European markets and assist Taiwanese firms in the business find the blue ocean of independent games.
*Note: The goal of "Casual Connect" is to promote independently produced leisure games and mobile games. The event is held 4 times each year and its main ideas include B2B business exhibition as well as speeches and conferences. The number of teams entering the final is the highest in history. There were 99 teams from 16 countries competing for the prizes. The competitiveness was also the most vigorous historically. The exhibition attracted nearly 80 companies from the US, European, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia including publishers, platform owners, and investors such as Google, GameView, GameFounder, etc.,who looked for excellent game content and products by participating in such events.
