III Smart Glass Industrial Application solution package Remote Master is able to instruct far end staffs to repair and maintain equipment by automatically tagging targets.
"Smart Glass Industry Application Solution Package Product Launch Event" was held on April 7th. All distinguished guests took a picture after the event. From the right: Jorjin Technologies President Wen-lung Liang, Department of Industrial Technology Researcher Chien-hung Lai, III SNSI President Ming-whei Feng, CSC Group Dr. Chao-yung Hsu, Keelung City Fire Department Director General Chen-yu Tang, Peer Giant System President Kuo-Hsiang Chang, III SNSI Group Leader Ching-wen Lin.
Supported by Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), Ministry of Economic Affairs, III Smart Network System Institute (SNSI) held on April 7th the "Smart Glass Industry Application Solution Package Product Launch Event" and President of III SNSI Ming-whei Feng gave a speech at the opening ceremony.
While conducting conventional patrols and routine examinations in the steel industry, to guarantee work safety, operating personnel or engineers entering the compound always have to carry a lot of equipment such as industrial helmets, life detectors, and communication equipment. Not only does it lacks of efficiency, but also wastes a lot of time and effort.
Outlined by the technology project "Smart Handheld Device Core Technology Tackling Project" presented by Department of Industrial Technology (DoIT), Ministry of Economic Affairs, III Smart Network System Institute (SNSI) and CSC Group worked collectively on the solution package for smart glasses called "Remote Master" which is able to integrate related required functions and is demonstrated to the public as a mix of professional helmet and smart glasses. The burden on personnel's shoulder is dramatically reduced and associated tasks could be carried out in a much safer and more efficient way.
Remote Master Lower 20% of Maintenance and Operation Cost by Automatically Tagging Targets for Accurate Inspection and Repair
There is no distinct difference between the outlook of Remote Master and that of ordinary industrial helmet. The distinction lies within that the helmet combines with smart glasses and equips inside with precise sensors. For the reason, professionals could immediately keep an eye on the real situation of the site. Furthermore, Remote Master also provides real time video of the working environment, voice communication, as well as remote instruction functions.
The "Motion Object Tracking and Vision Calibration Technology" developed by Smart Network System Institute successfully broke through current application boundaries. It is able to illustrate real time auxiliary information on smart glasses and mark the equipment required for inspection and repair. With the assistance of Remote Master, engineers and operating personnel could not only improve efficiency tremendously but also decrease operation and maintenance cost by 20%. Additionally, through real time video, supervisors could monitor the actions of operating staffs so as to guarantee work safety. The attributes of the solution package are as follows:
1. Ensure Safety: Use real time notification or instruction to lower the risk of dangerous operation such as complicated installation, repair, and maintenance.
2. Cut Costs: Experts at far end could instruct operating staffs simultaneously so as to improve the problem solving effect and cut operation and maintenance cost.
3. Increase Efficiency: There is no need for onsite professionals to carry lots of operation manuals and documents with them. With the assistance of voice or video instructions, they can finish their jobs and increase efficiency as well as make sure the operation process could be auditable in the future.
Helmet Design Integrates Hardware and Software and Frees Operation Personnel's Both Hands
President of III SNSI Ming-whei Feng gave a speech at the opening ceremony and indicated that III, CSC Group, and domestic smart glasses firms work collectively to integrate software and hardware and to establish for our country the frameworks for the Technology Application of Smart Glass Industry. Because of the helmet design, operation personnel no longer need to use handhold devices and to carry with them various equipment such as information communication equipment and tablets. Operating professionals' both hands are freed so that efficiency could be dramatically improved. This is one of the greatest milestones for the steel industry to adopt the latest technology to real world application.
Looking into the future, it is expected that Remote Master could be introduced into different fields. The team of the project not only looks forward to a variety of cooperation opportunities but also the exploration of multiple application possibilities so as to facilitation for Taiwan the realization of new experience requiring the interaction and integration between the virtual and actual world.
