III Helps Taiwan’s Digital Content Enterprises Fight to Bangkok Establishing more Economic Opportunities with ASEAN Countries

In response to the New Southbound Policy, bolstered by the Ministry of Economic Bureau and Industrial Development Bureau, Chinese National Federation of Industries organized 2017 Taiwan - Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit in Plaza Athenee Hotel, Bangkok on July 27th with the support of co-organizers such as Taiwan Design Center, Institute for Information Industry, and Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC). At the summit, III and TCDC signed MOU with each other to promote technology upgrading in associated with digital content industry in Thailand and Taiwan, strengthen the talent and technology communication between Thailand and Taiwan, and mutually cultivate professionals and works in the industry in both countries.
At 2017 Taiwan - Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit, topics related to cultural creativity including design and digital content are mutually carried out by Mr. Noppado Weerakitti, Director of the Department of Creative Economy Development of Thailand Creative & Design Center, Tung-Jung (David) Sung, CEO of Taiwan Design Center, and Dr. Hao-Chun Tai from III to invite 8 industry professionals from Thailand and Taiwan to give speeches covering issues regarding future trend development of design and digital content under the influence of the global trend Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things and two panel discussions were held.
In the discussions, Pegacasa Design Director Cheng-I Lee shared the integration strategies regarding product innovation as well as the successful new product development secrets in the perspective of a designer. Furthermore, Founder of Thinkk Studio Decha Archjananun described the development strategies of designed daily products in Thailand. From the perspective of branding and visual design, Tnop Wangsillapakun, Design Director of Tnop Design, presented the various real cases that Bangkok brought its soft power of tourism to another level by emphasizing on design. Design Director Yung-Chi Chen explained how to create new value for brands by the examples of the design and planning for international big brands as well as the visual design strategies for applying "World Design Capital Taipei 2016".
The latter half of the event on July 27th was the panel discussion kicked off by Monchai Sricharoensak, Vice President of Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA). Then, Sinoze CEO Ratapatr Chotimongkol (Shin) introduced how they got funding and moved towards the international market. After that, SNSplus Inc. which has dedicated to Thailand market for many years introduced how the company entered live webcasting from game industry given the speech title "Opening the Pan-Entertainment Era by Popular Live Webcasting". Later, Chun-Chuan Tu, Founder of Lanota, shared his experience about "How Independent Game Producing Company to Stand on the Global Stage."
These four invited experts in the digital content industry no only showed up at the panel discussion sharing their opinions, but also put their focuses on how the digital content companies in Thailand and Taiwan can find the niche points for industry development as well as the collaboration items that both sides are expecting to be able to work together. By specifically relying on the communication platform between Thailand and Taiwan to integrate diverse thoughts from various organizations, enterprises in the digital content industry from Thailand and Taiwan will mutually promote their works to the global market and grasp the business opportunities in the digital economy era as well as break the original framework of the industry to find new business models.
From July 24th to 28th, III led 7 digital content related companies from Taiwan to form a delegation expanding digital content business opportunities in Thailand including Taiwan Game Cooperation Development Association, SNSplus, Lanota, Playerium, Miso Games, 18Light, and Inspiring Super Ideas, etc. These companies went to visit and discussed issued in the industry with Thailand companies such as DEPA, ini3, True Digital Plus, Total VR, VR1 Bangkok, etc. While exchanging ideas, enterprises in the digital content industry between Thailand and Taiwan naturally found cooperation opportunities and did business with each other and expanded the market overseas for Taiwan digital content industry unintentionally.
III expected that by constructing the platform- Taiwan and Thailand Industrial Collaboration Summit, III could form a communication channel with Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) and Thai Game Software Industry Association(TGA) to further facilitate the communication between Thailand and Taiwan in digital content industry so as to stimulate the research and development potential of Taiwanese and Thailand firms in the field. This will not only be helpful for Taiwanese firms to continually develop and promote their digital content to overseas markets in Southeast Asia but also to level up the research and develop capability and export percentage of Taiwanese firms, which is beneficial to the strategic mapping out of overseas markets.
