The winners for the Jury Prize of 2017 IDEAS Show@ APEC Innovation were officially announced on July 26th. Mei Lee(the 10th from the right), Director General of Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Ren-Da Yang (the 9th from the left), Director of III IDEAS and the members of 5 winning teams took a photo after the ceremony. 2017 IDEAS Show@ APEC Innovation, the event regarded as one of the most imperative events in the start up circle, set off on July 26th. Among the 35 competing teams coming domestically or from abroad, Linkross Lab, Theia Tech, I AM COMPANY, dipp, and Fix Games won the annual Jury Prizes, which means there is no doubt that AI is the hottest topic for starting a new business.
In order to integrate the resources for entrepreneurship in Asia Pacific regions, with the support from Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs, III Innovative DigiTech-Enabled Applications & Services Institute worked with APEC for the second time to hold IDEAS Show@ APEC Innovation on July 26th. After rigorous competition, 12 domestic and foreign judges ranging from international well-known venture capitalists to veteran professionals in various industries, evaluating teams from the latest 6 trends including Social eCommerce, O2O, Mobile Application, AR/VR, AI, Big Data, selected 5 extraordinary teams from 10 international teams from the U.S, H.K.,Vietnam, Korea, and Peru, as well as 25 domestic teams from different parts of Taiwan to bestow the highest acknowledgement - the Annual Judge Awards.
Startup teams from Taiwan didn't let their audience down. There were 3 teams given awards including Linkross Lab- LoFo is a revolutionary cloud solution package for lost and found, Theia Tech- Theia phone case is an epoch-making product integrating software and hardware whose functions are novel and installation is convenient, and I AM COMPANY- its app acts as the most convenient electronic communication log between parents and teachers. The international teams also demonstrated high innovative capability. From the U.S., the team "dipp" devoted to AI research and development and by intelligent SaaS technologies, assisted travel companies acquire high quality data to understand customer preferences, distribute individual customized content, and provide better travel experiences. Furthermore, Fix Games from Korea established the new generation one site multi-platforms by technologies related to VR, AR, and 5D, which concentrates on electronic sports as well as ICT experiences. The project is not only accepted and enjoyed by customers from different ages, but also acclaimed by judges unanimously so as to win the annual award.
As for the special awards for enterprises, Nestech brought back VIISA Award to win free tutorial from industrial professionals as well as the right to use a 4 member office in Ho Chi Minh City. MaGIC Award provided I AM COMPANY 2 flight tickets to Malaysia and 5 day right to use MaGIC working space consecutively. Qualcomm Award offered USD$2,000 to Push Hands Media. CHT Award gave the opportunities to MemePR Limited and Youuxi for one year free usage of hicloud cloud services, which is worthy of NTD $400,000. IDEAS Show Stars' Award, which is sponsored by previous participants including ACCUPASS, CHOCO TV, HyXen Technology, Pubu ebooks, VMFive, whoscall, and Chen Tai Gu, bestowed NTD $70,000 to Linkross Lab. Additionally, Best Popularity Award and Best Presentation Popularity Award were established in the event this year for audience to select their favorite teams. Lots of fans actively participated in the voting to support their ideal teams and the event site was crowded with people. Finally, KIINO and Hua-Yuan Biotechnology won the awards.
Mei Lee, Director General of Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs, indicated that Taiwan government has long dedicated to the start up industry and various projects from petite model to large scale are provided for entrepreneurs to apply for funding. Additionally, with the help from the public and industrial sectors, a lot of start up hubs were established in Nei Hu, Syntrend, and Taipei Expo Park. The academic sector also spares no efforts to cultivate talents devoting to technology innovation. These three sides work collectively to build a healthy start up ecosystem.
III Innovative DigiTech-enabled Application and Service Institute Vice Director Yi-Yuan Le further pointed out that the two day event, IDEAS Show@ APEC Innovation, has attracted more than 4,000 visitors, which not only breaks the history record for the number of applicants but also increase the chance for the exposure of start up teams and the business matching opportunities. Following the New Southbound Policy, the organizers of this event proactively invited 4 different startup accelerators not only to set professionals as keynote speakers and judges but also exhibit at show booths. By this event, the startup teams from abroad and Taiwan could have a better understanding of the markets of Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Singapore so as to assist startup companies open up overseas markets. Also, it delivered the messages that Taiwan welcomes innovative teams from abroad to join the startup circle in Taiwan. By dedicating brand new thoughts and efforts to each level of the value chain in different industries, youngsters could create the revolutionary era of their own!
In the future, III will continue to host IDEAS Show and enlarge its scale to congregate more resources and energy for innovation. By introducing international resources and exchanging ideas and experience with global professionals, III will be helpful to startups in expanding more markets. It is expected that there will be more domestic and foreign teams participating the event next year.

dipp is now constructing an intellectual SaaS technology which enables travel agencies to acquire high quality data so as to understand customer preference and distribute content according to personal interests. By this way, the system could continue attracting users and capturing specific data for companies to be aware of their customers and figure out customer offline behaviors.

O！VR constructs a new generation site with multi-platforms. Focusing on VR, AR, 5D, numbers, and performance, the site dedicates all resource to active electronic sports and ICT experience. It is well acclaimed by users of all ages.
