To Strengthen the Cooperation and Exchange Ideas on the Technology Trend and Development of International Industries, III signs MOU with Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Oregon (TCCO)

Witnessed by Chia-Ching Hsu, Deputy Minister of Overseas Community Affairs Council, III President Cheng-Hung Cho and TCCO President Chang-Tsung Fu, the representative of the Institute for Information Industry and Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Oregon respectively, signed the MOU on March 9th.
To assist Taiwanese industries in gaining more global business opportunities, and
to enhance the competitive advantages of Taiwanese local enterprises and overseas Taiwanese businessmen, witnessed by Chia-Ching Hsu, Deputy Minister of Overseas Community Affairs Council, III President Cheng-Hung Cho and TCCO President Chang-Tsung Fu, the representative of the Institute for Information Industry and Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Oregon respectively, signed MOU on March 9th.
In recent years, overseas Taiwanese businessmen are facing severe global challenges whether they are starting a business or upgrading and transforming. Additionally, Covid-19 has a great impact on the markets and economy and many industries are in trouble or forced to come to a halt. To guide overseas Taiwanese businessmen to upgrade their industries and enhance their international competitiveness, Overseas Community Affairs Council, Taiwan and major Taiwan Research and Development institutions collectively promote
the "Industrial Upgrading and Technical Service Program for Global Overseas Taiwanese Businessmen", hoping to combine Taiwan's profound R&D technology capabilities and help the business development of overseas Taiwanese businessmen.
Chia-Ching Hsu, Deputy Minister of Overseas Community Affairs Council, pointed out that by promoting the "Industrial Upgrading and Technical Service Program for Global Overseas Taiwanese Businessmen", the Overseas Community Affairs Council plays the role as leverage, and works with III to establish an online service platform, providing service for overseas Taiwanese businessmen regarding their technical upgrading. In October 2021, Overseas Community Affairs Council also facilitated the cooperation between III and TCCO to hold an online seminar on information security issues, attracting many overseas Taiwanese businessmen who were concerned about information security issues to participate in the event. Chia-Ching Hsu also expressed her gratitude to the Institute for Information Industry for its tireless efforts in developing the digital transformation of the information industry. The signing of MOU with Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Oregon will help the technological upgrading of more overseas Taiwanese businessmen in different industries.
III President Cheng-Hung Cho indicated that the pandemic has accelerated the global digital transformation. It is a great honor for the Institute for Information Industry to use its own resources on digital technology to cooperate with Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce of Oregon on digital trends and technology applications, covering topics such as digital transformation, information security defense, international standard certification, 5G applications, etc. In addition, III can also share relevant industrial technology cooperation experience and cases of overseas Taiwanese enterprises. When business opportunities appear at home and abroad, through the cooperation with different units as well as the idea exchange and coaching for young entrepreneurs, III is more than pleased to jointly face the transformation and development of environmental changes with co-working partners; III expects a new cooperation model that can be extended to overseas Taiwanese businessmen in the future to assist in the digital transformation of overseas Taiwanese businesses.
TCCO President Chang-Tsung Fu said that since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, various industries around the world have simultaneously faced a critical period of technological transformation. In addition to the need for digital transformation for Taiwanese businessmen and expatriates, information security is also an unavoidable advanced topic. The MOU signed by the two parties this time on the idea exchange and collaboration in the field of information technology not only continues the important topic of information security, but also covers the advanced technology topics such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, edge computing, software testing and other essential technologies in the industry. TCCO hopes that through the idea exchange and cooperation, the professional scientific and technological resources of the Institute for Information Industry will become the strong support for Taiwanese businessmen in their facing technological transformation in the U.S.
In recent years, the Institute for Information Industry has positioned itself as a "Digital Transformation Enabler", integrating the resources from various fields such as think tanks, human resource facilities, and information and communication technology research and development and promotion units. In the future, III will continue to develop solutions and application services that meet the needs of the industry, promote the digital transformation of the government and industry, and strengthen our country's competitiveness in the global market.
