Cooperative MOU Signs by Canada and Taiwan Incubating Innovative Vitality Together

Institute for Information Industry (III), instructed by Industry Development Bureau (IDB) of MOEA, has been vigorously promoting innovative team of Taiwan’s Creative Industry to explore international co-development opportunity of incubating and professional talent training. An agreement of memorandum of cooperative understanding (MOU) has been reached and signed today (April 23rd Taiwan time) by VP of III, Dr. Gary Gong, and VP of Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN), Ms. Avvey Peters in Ottawa, Canada; Taiwan-Canada digital content industrial cooperation exchange and cooperation, at the assistant of representative of Taiwan Economics and Culture Office to Canada, helps to establish the cooperation exchange bridge successfully. The historical moment of MOU ceremony is witnessed by vice minister of MOEA, Mr. Shih-Chao Cho, and Mr. Chih-Kung Liu, Taiwan’s representative to Canada.
Vice minister of MOEA, Mr. Shih-Chao Cho address today: “the development of creative knowledge economic is the source of digital content industry, and our government has been dedicated to promote digital content and digital learning industry for many years with supplement plan to encouraging the development of digital creativity. MOEA is optimistic regarding the international cooperative agreement reaches by III and CDMN, which is expected that the partnership in sharing of incubation system, resource to enhance the exchange of digital innovative, will improve and increase media technology development, talent training for both sides of Taiwan and Canada.”
Vice President of III, also as executive director for Digital Content Industry Promotion office of MOEA, Dr. Gary Gong points out at the signing ceremony that, personal mobile device is the key potential application development in the post PC era. III, at the support of IDB/MOEA, has started “App Innovation Park” in 2012 to incubate domestic creative idea team, providing guidance in technology, capital resource, and marketing assistance in order to realize commercial product and service of innovative framework. So far, the accomplishment of winning 3rd Place Creative Award with “Monday Morning Escape App, USA”, and “Best Annual Android App Award” at Digital Time contest by “Hung-Lung Digital Cultural Creative Technology Inc” and “Chang-Yang Technology” in separation, has proven that the creative capability recognized at home and abroad are revealing the potential of young innovation team cannot be overlooked.
Dr. Gary Gong further revealed the objective at next phase of “App Innovation Park”. III will combine the experience and energy accumulated in APEC Digital Opportunity Center, ADOC Project, in the past years, locking on incubation network across domain and across international, providing important communication channels of entrepreneur and international exchange platform. While, CDMN has launched a series of “Soft-Landing” creative team training program in 2012, and has set up 21 cooperation centers across Canada to encourage local industries to conduct international exchanges and cooperation, also allowing foreign team to enter the country for collaboration and exchanges in research and development. The completion of cooperative MOU by III and CDMN means stepping stone successfully lay down for Taiwanese entrepreneur, digital content, and digital learning creative team to march into the international market. It was reported that the “soft-landing” program includes everything a company needs to enter a foreign market. It is a combination of services and office facilities that targets technology-based and creative industry companies and strives to offer companies cost-efficient and simple solutions for entering foreign markets similar to our incubation center at Science Park.
After MOU signing ceremony, III arranges face to face meeting for domestic leading e-Learning vendor representative from: SUNNET, Hamastar Technology Co., Over-Paradigm Technology, and Shou-Yang Digital Technology Co. with CDMN. III also recommends Taiwan vendors partaking “Taiwan-Ottawa Digital Media Cooperation Seminar”, co-sponsoring by Digital Content Industry Promotion Office of MOEA and Invest Ottawa’s Film, Television and Digital Media Office to jointly explore business opportunities in the industry. The seminar is to enhance exchanges and cooperation for digital media creativity in innovation and technology, and to increase international competitiveness in the international market opportunity for domestic e-Learning and Digital Content industry!
