INTELLIGENT HOTSPOT CONNECTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS |
USA
|
Abstract
Intelligent hotspot connection systems and methods are provided. The intelligent hotspot connection system includes a storage unit, a wireless connection unit, and a processing unit. The storage unit includes a hotspot information database recording at least one property for each of a plurality of hotspots, and a hotspot preference database recording at least one preference inclination, respectively defining a reference weight for the property and signal strength. The processing unit detects the signal strength of the respective hotspots via the wireless connection unit. The processing unit obtains the preference inclination, and calculates a score for the respective hotspots according to the preference inclination, the property and signal strength of the respective hotspots. The processing unit selects and automatically connects to the hotspot with the highest score via the wireless connection unit.

METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING CHINESE DICTIONARY AND APPARATUS AND STORAGE MEDIA USING THE SAME |
USA
|
Abstract
A method for constructing a Chinese dictionary is disclosed, including determining a probability for nominalization of a Chinese term with a given collocation term according to a determination rule and the correlation between the Chinese term and its corresponding collocations, wherein the Chinese term is determined to be a verb part-of-speech. The method further includes modifying the verb part-of-speech of the Chinese term with the given collocation term to an appropriate part-of-speech when the probability for nominalization of the Chinese term with the given collocation term is higher than a predetermined value, and storing the correlation between the Chinese term, the given collocation term and the appropriate part-of-speech in a storage device.

Method and system for instantly expanding a keyterm and computer readable and writable recording medium for storing program for instantly expanding keyterm |
USA
|
Abstract
A method for instantly expanding a keyterm is provided. According to the query term, a data search process is performed by several search engines. Several document snippets related to the query term are obtained from the search engines. A related term table containing several keyterms corresponding to each snippet is built up by analyzing each of the document snippet. According to a position relationship between the each keyterm and the query term in each snippet, a correlation calculation is performed for giving each keyterm a correlation value. A semantic merging process is performed to merge the correlation values of the keyterms with the same semantic meaning to be a correlation indicator. Some of the keyterms are determined to form a keyterm set of the query term.

ADJUSTABLE HIERARCHICAL SCORING METHOD AND SYSTEM |
USA
|
Abstract
An adjustable hierarchical scoring method is disclosed. A hierarchical scoring structure for speech-sound data is generated. Historical data of speech-sound scoring for the speech-sound data is retrieved from a speech-sound practice database while a professional scoring result for the hierarchical scoring structure of the speech-sound data is being collected. A weight-adjusting operation is performed according to the historical data of speech-sound scoring and the professional scoring result to calculate optimum adjusting weights for each layer of the hierarchical scoring structure. Retrieved speech-sound data of a student is scored using a speech-sound scoring system and a weighted average operation is performed to the score of the speech-sound data of the student according to a corresponding adjusting weight, thereby generating the final score of the speech-sound data of the student.

APPARATUS, METHOD, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCT THEREOF FOR STORING A DATA AND DATA STORAGE SYSTEM COMPRISING THE SAME |
USA
|
Abstract
An intermediary apparatus, an intermediary method, and a computer program product thereof for storing data in a storage apparatus, and a data storage system comprising the same are provided. The storage apparatus has a storage zone with a signature field, and the signature field stores a first signature value. The data has index information and a data signature value. After searching out the storage zone according to the index information, the intermediary apparatus extracts the first signature value from the storage zone, and then determines if the data has been stored in the storage zone according to the first signature value and the data signature value. If not, the intermediary apparatus writes the data into the storage zone; otherwise, ignores the data.

Named entity marking apparatus, named entity marking method, and computer readable medium thereof |
USA
|
Abstract
A named entity marking apparatus, a named entity marking method, and a computer program product thereof are provided. The named entity marking apparatus comprises a processor and a storage unit, wherein the processor is electrically connected to the storage unit. The storage unit is stored with an electronic document and a named entity database. The processor marks the electronic document into a first marked document by a first set of the named entity database. The processor decides a second set of the named entity database according to the first marked document. The processor re-marks the electronic document into a second marked document by the second set of the named entity database.

METHOD FOR INTER-IP-DOMAIN ROAMING ACROSS WIRELESS NETWORKS |
USA
|
Abstract
A method involves in integrating the communication mechanisms of IAPP and mobile IP is provided for allowing a mobile station to roam among various APs in different IP subnets. When a mobile station roams to a new IP subnet, it will issue a reassociation request to an Access Point A in the new IP subnet. In response to the reassociation request, the Access Point A will need the IP address of the previous Access Point B in the previous IP subnet to send the handoff request to the Access Point B. So, the Access Point A can find the IP address of the Access Point B via the communication mechanism of mobile IP of IP layer and then send the handoff request frame to the Access Point B. In turn, upon receiving the handoff request frame, the Access Point B deletes the record of the mobile station in the association table and then sends the handoff response frame back to the Access Point A via the communication mechanism of mobile IR. The unicast handoff response frame will be forwarded to the Access Point A. Consequently, the Access Point A can complete the handoff procedure.

DYNAMIC SEARCHING METHOD OF PROVISIONING INSTANCE IDENTIFIERS |
USA
|
Abstract
A dynamic searching method of provisioning instance identifiers (PRIDs) is disclosed, which finds available PRIDs used by a network policy in data tables when adding the network policy to a policy database. A last data table without PRID assignment is first founded and then the number of used PRIDs in the last data table is retrieved to determine whether the last data table has an available PRID. If so, a field value for the available PRID is determined by the greatest or smallest field value used by the used PRIDs, or the available PRID is determined and assigned by dynamically comparing a count from a counter with the first and last PRIDs. After all data tables are successfully assigned with corresponding available PRIDs, the network policy is processed completely.

BASE STATION, SUBORDINATED STATION AND TRANSMISSION METHOD THEREOF |
USA
|
Abstract
A base station (BS SS MIMO) network are provided. The BS stores resource allocation information about the MIMO network and an SS list, and generate a super frame according to the resource allocation information and the SS list. The super frame comprises a pilot pattern which comprises a plurality of pilots and data. The BS and SS both considers the pilot pattern as an identifier of the SS. When there are communications occurred between the BS and the SS, the BS/SS will confirm whether the pilot pattern of the super frame matches the identifier of the SS to reduce interference from other stations in the MIMO network.
