To assist visiting tourists have more complete and convenient travel quality, under the support of Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, III Innovative DigiTech-Enabled Applications & Services Institute (IDEAS) worked with Taipei Computer Association to build 4G smart experience model for the development of smart service and infrastructure configuration in Taiwan. On November 30th , “Taiwan Intelligent Hotel 4G Innovative Applications Press Conference & Smart Applications Open API forum was held in the hope to guide future development of smart tourism value-added applications and integrate relevant resources in the industries for the promotion of the quality, value, and competition of Taiwan tourism.
Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs Division Director Chih-Ching, Yang indicated that contrast to the other services, Smart Tourism Island business can intrigue smart tourism value-added applications and fulfill the purpose of technology integration, concept innovation, and the construction of smart experience model so that business travelers from arriving Taiwan’s airports to leaving the country can all feel the considerate domestic service of smart tourism island. III IDEAS vice president Yu-Hsiang, Hung further pointed out that the instant prevalence of 4G network enables people to get access to the infinite possibility brought about by the 4G network so that they can receive information anytime, anywhere. The concept of Smart Tourism Island is to catch up with future trend which combines 4G network with innovative applied technologies. By promoting the idea, III expects to integrate various technologies from different fields, congregate resources in related industries, and construct new business operation models so that numerous products and services derived from smart tourism can be gradually created to stimulate the consumption of visiting tourists in Taiwan. Relevant industries in Taiwan will be beneficial from the project and invigorate the economic development of peripheral businesses.
What is worth mentioning was that the results of intelligent hotel 4G innovation applications were applied to the real services of Smart Tourism Island by Service Experience Engineering (S.E.E.) conducted specifically by III IDEAS. Through trend analysis, behavior observation, and service process design and arrangement, III collaborated with Taiwan Hotel Technical Association (THTA), Taipei Hotel Association (THA), Jin Long System Integration Co. Ltd., and Taiwan Star Telecom Corporation Ltd. to facilitate the service all around Taiwan. So far, the project attracted 6 high quality hotels to participate including Taipei Hyatt, Humble House Taipei, Ambience Hotel, Miramar Garden Taipei, Hotel ONE Taichung, and The Grand Hi Lai Hotel. By the available 4G mobile network everywhere from the north to the south of Taiwan, the hotels can provide integrated content covering transportation, tourism, hotel, and cuisine to their targeted customers and invite business travelers from abroad for a try. Since instant and smart services increase the convenience and comfort level of the trips, the new consumption services applying the smart tourism network make tourists in Taiwan eat, order, and buy everywhere they go and everyplace they tour around. The international image of Taiwan as an intelligent island is therefore consolidated and Taiwan’s ability to integrate software and hardware capability is well known by the other countries around the world.
The team of III IDEAS currently plans to present the service in various exhibitions such as Computex Taipei 2016 and WCIT 2017 for visiting business guests to experience. In the meantime, the project will combine with different intelligent services and infrastructure, open platforms and new media so as to promote the service of Smart Tourism Island business applications to all quality hotels in Taiwan. With the adaptation of the new business model, related industries such as tourism and leisure travel hold the chance for prosperity.
