Advantech and III Collectively Invested in IIoT Industry and Co-founded EnSaaS Aiming Preliminarily to Provide Target Markets with Internet of Devices (IoD) Solution Packages

On January 9th, 2018, Advantech and III announced that they will mutually found an IIOT cloud platform company EnSaaS whose shares will be evenly held by the two organizations. It is expected that the company will be officially set up and fully operate at the end of this year. On January 9th, 2018, Advantech, one of the leading companies in Global Intelligent Systems ( TWSE: 2395 ) announced collectively with III to co-found the IIoT company EnSaaS and set the goal to become the leading company providing solution packages for customers in the Greater China Region as a cloud operating platform on Industrial Internet of Device (IIoD).
Allan Yang, Chief Technology Officer of Advantech, indicated that Advantech has started developing IoT PaaS with III since 2017, so as to construct a complete value chain for IIoT and to increase the concatenation speed between the edge and the cloud (Edge, PaaS, SaaS) as well as improve the quality of operation services. On the basis of the current hardware system advantage that Advantech possesses on the edge side, the two organizations will continue working on the mutually developed WISE-PaaS 2.0 Data Analytics Platform and open the SaaS services for third party units in the vertical fields so that a complete IIoT operation cloud service platform could be thoroughly constructed.
Allan Yang further pointed out that EnSaaS will launch its IoD solution package as the first operation service into the market. It will target the application situations with certain distinct characteristics such as the fields applying distributed equipment and having widespread device deployment and provide services for clients in the vertical ecosystem, like equipment manufacturers, equipment leasing and maintaining firms, and system integrators, etc. The company set the goal to establish multiple benchmark cases in 2018, so that it can cultivate the ability to conduct demand analysis and map out projects. Additionally, it will nurture talents in the current organization for the fact that EnSaaS will turn itself into an official company at the end of 2018.
III President Hsiao-Pin Yu mentioned that with the support from the special project launched by Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs, III integrated the technological results from both Big Data Project and Open Service Project of Hybrid Networks Platform and developed NIP EI-PaaS core technologies. Utilizing the technological assets of NIP EIP PaaS, III collaborated with Advantech to develop WISE-PaaS 2.0, which has become the first NIP industrial realization. The new model that legal persons and industrial companies research and develop collectively is one of the best ways that helps legal persons maximize their research outcomes and facilitate Taiwanese industries to create the best operating performance.
Hsiao-Pin Yu further explained that the IoT cloud platform developed by III is not only the backbone for the ecosystem of intelligent manufacturing but also can help Taiwanese manufacturers move towards intelligent manufacturing. Additionally, the IoT cloud platform is also a mutually developed platform for IoT digital transformation. It could help Taiwanese companies in the manufacturing industry transforming into service providers. Moreover, it is a platform designed for the firms in information service industry which set goals to instantly develop IoT innovative applications. III and Advantech work collectively to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry and also hope to work with all associated organizations and persons to mutually create the new economy based on software service and map out the brilliant future for Taiwan.
EnSaaS is expected to become a start-up company in the first quarter of 2018 with shares evenly held by III and Advantech, and to turn itself into an official company at the end of the same year. Also, it is expected to execute employee stock purchase plan as well as introduce strategic partners outside of the company.
