For energy-saving and carbon emission reduction, we have developed advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) technologies and smart grid application services based on verified wireless sensor network technologies. We also created a large-scale data collection and analysis platform to effectively reach energy conservation goals with the network management and data processing on integrated technologies of sensor networks. In addition, we played the leading role in the industry alliances and established industrial consensus for standardization so that inter-operability issues may be resolved. As more AMI being implemented, more requirements are created as value-added services which industries may be able to take advantage of. III, as a Cloud technology enabler, actively involved in the works of the Taiwan Cloud Computing Consortium supervised by the MOEA, in order to seize the opportunities of the future product market, by leading the development of the latest technologies as well as to promote the Taiwan IT industry in the global cloud computing system market. Distribution Management Systems and Demand Response Platform Developing a demand response platform for major utilities would require to facilitate the demand response and management’s needs, and for further integration of energy and information technologies to develop the required technologies for the commercial and residential sectors. The Distribution Management Systems offers the best solutions for both power usage safety and power-control intelligence in a building, at home or in a community. Lighting Fusion Optimization Control System Using wireless sensing networks to provide the lighting fusion optimization control system will enhance power lighting under insufficient natural light, while turning down the power lighting under sufficient natural light, in order to provide a comfortable and energy-saving living environment. This efficiency analysis and report system will implement energy performance analysis technologies, integrate auto statistics-compiling, power-saving ratio and accumulated power-saving readings, to evaluate the system’s actual economic benefits and output when generating the energy-saving report. Telematics In the R&D [research and development] of the Green ICT domain, III focused on the vision of developing the Green Transportation/Telematics infrastructure, especially in the development of (1) Autonomous Telematics Communication Modules, Middleware, and service platform; (2) Telematics ITS Integrated Total Solutions, and essential IPR deployment; and (3) LBS [Location Based Services] for the Green application system platform for the City Transportation and Intelligent Logistics.
